Welcome Mr. Corey Uselton
PREPS welcomes Mr. Cory Uselton, Superintendent of Education for DeSoto County Schools as one of our newest board members. Mr. Uselton began his educational career as a teacher and basketball coach at Pontotoc High School, Charleston High School, and Hernando High School. He also held the position of assistant principal at Horn Lake School from 2004 to 2007, principal at Senatobia High School from 2007 to 2009, and principal at DeSoto Central High School from 2009 to 2015. Mr. Uselton was named the 2014-2015 Mississippi High School Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and he was recognized by the University of Mississippi as the recipient of the Andrew "Ike" Mullins Award for excellence in educational leadership. In 2013, he was honored with Principal of the Year for DeSoto County Schools, and he was recognized as the 2013 Administrator of the Year for the First Congressional District of Mississippi. He currently serves on the Superintendents’ Advisory Council for the Mississippi Department of Education, and the President-Elect of the Mississippi Association of School Administrators. Mr. Uselton also serves as Vice-Chair on the Board of Trustees for Northwest Mississippi Community College. He is married to Amanda Uselton, and they have two sons, Jackson and Will.
