You CAN Engage Elementary Students in Engineering

Presenter: Donna Torres

Donna will be presenting Monday, February 26 at our conference. She will provide you a hands-on experience for classroom integration of engineering that promotes analytical and reflective thinking and enhances learning across disciplines while encouraging students to collaborate and solve real world challenges.

Donna Torres is education program specialist for INFINITY Science Center in Pearlington, Mississippi, a non-profit science museum that serves as the official visitor center for NASA Stennis Space Center. With a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from William Carey and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Southern Mississippi, Torres’ career in public education was split with 14 years in the classroom and 14 years in various administrative positions. With a total of 28 years in education, her experience in developing professional training and curriculum design and scheduling adds to INFINITY’s education department program. Away from INFINITY she enjoys time with her family and friends, music performance and cake decorating.
